April Outing: Priest Field Shelter, April 14-15

Next outing:  Corey has lined up a great outing on the AT for April 14-15 to the Priest Field shelter (4,000ft elevation).  Information online.  Corey is in out of the country for a couple of weeks.  We need to get prepared for the trip in his absence.  Please read the online information.  Except for our destination most of the planning information should look very similar to the Cold Mountain and PATC hike. Our troop has a couple of additional backpacking tents, stoves and fuel since the January PATC trip.  Let’s go mountain goats.

Please let me know if you are going on the AT hike to the Priest Field shelter, not going or are just thinking about going.  I’d like to hear back from everyone with an answer please.  I can’t be sure you received this message unless you reply.  Adult leaders always wanted too.

Quick notes regarding our outdoor program:

• Our canoe/fishing/camping trip scheduled for May 12-13 has been rescheduled for July.  May 13th is Mother’s Day — my bad all around on not noticing Mother’s Day.  Also, there is a camporee the weekend before and the weekend after May 12-13.  More information on the camporees coming soon.
• Folks left stuff in my van yesterday from the Petersburg trip.  Nalgene bottle, coffee mug, scout shirt, pull over sweat shirt etc.  I’ll bring the stuff to tonight’s meeting from 7:30 to 8:10
• If you took pictures from Petersburg then please get me a few of them for our web site and to share.
• We had eight scouts and four adults on the Petersburg trip yesterday.

Virginia Lacrosse Scout Day

Hi All,

I just found out about the Virginia Lacrosse Scout Day.  Here is the information:

What:  Virginia Cavaliers vs. Maryland Terrapins in Lacrosse
Where: Klockner Stadium
When: Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.
Cost:  $3.00 per ticket

If you are interested in going please email me and bring your money to Monday’s meeting and I will order our tickets.
The only catch is that you must be in uniform on the day of game.
